In Saline County, the murder trial of Doctor Brian Burns is said to be moving on as scheduled. His final pre-trial appearance will be January 5, 2018
Burns is now represented by new legal counsel after he and his former representation parted ways in September citing irreconcilable differences.
Burns was found guilty earlier this year of attempting to hire someone to kidnap the states attorney prosecuting the case against him.
He’s due in court for sentencing on those charges November 11.
