CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — A 5-year-old girl is recovering in a St. Louis hospital after being shot in a residential area of Carbondale.
According to Carbondale Police, the child was shot around 11:30 Monday morning. She was treated at the scene by EMS and then taken to SIH Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. After her condition was stabilized, she was transferred to a St. Louis hospital.
Three juvenile suspects were located in the area and arrested by police.
The investigation is ongoing.
