JONESBORO, Ill. (WJPF) — A Chester man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for killing a man with a booby-trapped shotgun.
49-year-old William Wasmund was convicted of First Degree Murder earlier this year in the death of Jeffery Spicer.
Prosecutors say Wasmund placed a shotgun inside a shed along Route 3 in rural Union County and rigged the gun to fire when the shed door was opened.
Spicer was found dead along Route 3 in September 2018, the victim of that booby-trap.
