Korn Hired as SEMO Head Coach, Watson Calls it a Career

A pair of former Salukis made news Monday as one was hired as a head coach and the other retired.  Former Saluki Brad Korn was named the next head coach of SEMO Monday.  He spent the past five seasons at Kansas State, serving as an assistant to former Saluki head coach and Hall of Famer Bruce Weber.  Korn signed a five year contract to coach the Redhawks.  According to reports, he beat out former Saluki assistant Rodney Watson and John A Logan coach and former Saluki Kyle Smithpeters for the job.

Watson announced his retirement as University of Southern Indiana head basketball coach Monday.  Watson served as the Eagles’ longest tenured men’s basketball coach after 11 seasons, going 251-82, USI’s all-time winningest coach.  The University will begin a national search to fill the position.
