Multiple new cases of COVID-19 reported in southern Illinois Tuesday

(WJPF) — Multiple new cases of COVID-19 were reported in southern Illinois Tuesday, inclduding Union County, which reported its first case.

Jackson County

Two new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Jackson County Tuesday.

  • A male in his sixties acquired the disease through local contact with a known or suspected case.
  • A female in her seventies acquired the disease through local contact with a known or suspected case.

To date, there have been thirty-eight confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Jackson County. Twelve cases have recovered enough to be released from isolation and resume normal activity.

 

Massac County

One new case of COVID-19 was reported in Massac County Tuesday.

  • A male in his twenties currently in isolation

To date, there have been three confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Massac County.

 

Randolph County

Three new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Randolph County Tuesday.

Randolph County public health officials have not disclosed the age, gender, or current condition of the individuals affected.

To date, the Randolph County has reported forty-four confirmed cases of COVID-19. Twenty-nine cases have recovered enough to be released from isolation and resume normal activity.

 

Union County

One new case of COVID-19 was reported in Union County Tuesday.

  • A male in his twenties is currently in isolation.

To date, there has been one confirmed case of COVID-19 in Union County.
