Senior Hot Shot: Garrett Webb

 

Garrett Webb of Hamilton County was set for a big year leading the Foxes Baseball Team.  Last season he was an All-Conference selection and batted .374 for the Foxes, while also being named Team MVP.

He was also a football and basketball player for Hamilton County.  He starred in the backfield this past football season with over 1000 rushing yards and multiple accolades – all while leading the Foxes to their first postseason appearance in 13 years.

Garrett had over a thousand rushing yards this year in football to lead the Foxes to their first playoff game in 13 years. He received the Shriners MVP player of the game during the game in Edwards County. He was voted Player of the Week by WSIL . He was first team All-Conference Offense, voted team MVP. His junior year in baseball Garett had a BA of 374 and was All-Conference and was voted team MVP

“Garrett is a steady player who has been involved in playing year round since he entered junior high,” says Alicia Webb, Garrett’s mother.

Q: What moment in your high school athletic career sticks out most to you?

A: Going to the playoffs in football for the first time in 13 years

Q: How have you and your teammates tried to keep in contact despite the coronavirus?

A: Over social media

Q: How has the coronavirus affected your views on sports?

A: Don’t take them for granted because they can be taken away at any time.

Q: Once the pandemic is over with and life gets back to normal, what are you looking forward to most?

A: Being able to hangout with friends. Especially friends that plan to leave or go into the military.

Q: What goals do you have for yourself post-graduation, sports-related or life-related?

A: I would like to play college baseball and get my degree in heavy equipment/diesel mechanics.
