Bridgeport, IL Chief of Police arrested on domestic violence, gun charges

BRIDGEPORT, Ill. (WJPF) — The Bridgeport, Illinois Chief of Police has been arrested on domestic violence and gun charges.

At about 10:20 p.m. Saturday, Illinois State Police were called to a home in Bridgeport located in the 700 block of Adams Street.

Scott Murray, 46, was soon arrested on charges of domestic battery and reckless discharge of a firearm.

Murray was taken to the Lawrence County Jail, where he posted bond was released. The Lawrence County State’s Attorney’s Office is handling the case.
