VIENNA, Ill. (WJPF) — Vienna Mayor Jon Simmons has passed away.
Simmons, 79, died at his home Wednesday morning. A cause of death was not given. Simmons suffered from a number of health problems, some due to his exposure to Agent Orange during his military service in Vietnam.
Simmons served as Vienna Mayor for over a decade. He was also a well-known auctioneer in the area.
Arrangements are being handled by Meyer Funeral Home in Newton.
