Chester is in search of a new boys’ basketball coach after it was announced by Murphysboro Athletic Director Len Novara that Yellowjackets coach Brad Norman has been hired as a teacher and the Head Golf Coach for the Red Devils.
Chester Athletic Director Jeremy Blechle also confirmed that Norman will join the Red Devils as an assistant on the hardwood.
Norman has been at Chester the past decade and revived the program to a regular contender in the Black Diamond West, including a 5-year span of 20 win seasons from the ’15-’16 season to the ’19-’20 season.
“Working with Coach Norman for the past ten years has been a great experience. He took our boy’s basketball from shambles and completely rebuilt it and put us on the map,” Blechle said. ” He will be greatly missed and I wish him the very best in the next phase of his career.”
