MT. VERNON, Ill. (WJPF) — A downtown Mount Vernon building has been deemed dangerous and dilapidated.
The building, currently home to the Antioch International Assembly, is suffering from a partial floor collapse and is showing signs of roof failure.
Barricades at 9th and Broadway, 9th and Jordan, and in the alley between the old Register News Building and the Rare Steakhouse have been set up to keep people out of the area.
The Vendors Market Place, which was originally scheduled to be on 9th street this weekend, is now being moved to Jordan Avenue, east of 9th street, one block around the corner.
