East Cape Girardeau board moves up closing time for liquor license holders

EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, Ill. (WJPF) — Leaders in East Cape Girardeau say the only business left in the village serving alcohol will have to close three hours earlier each night.

The Village Board voted unanimously to require The Pink Pony Strip Club – and any other future businesses with a liquor license – to close at 1:30 am instead of 4:30 am.

The Pink Pony has been the site of violence, including gunfire, recently and neighbors to the property say the people showing up late at night don’t go inside the building, but rather gather outside in the parking lot.

The new hours will go into effect on November 10.
