Preliminary surveys indicate an EF-2 tornado touched down in Chester on Sunday night.
Damage assessment crews were out Monday compiling lists of damage to structures in Chester and Randolph County. They were assisted by Franklin County Emergency Management personnel.
Southern Baptist Disaster Relief crews were expected to be in town Tuesday to help with cleanup duties.
