HERRIN, Ill. (WJPF) — Over $9,000 were raised during last weekend’s Herrin Fire Department Chili Dinner.
The $9,170.07 goes to the department’s fire prevention program.
Fire Chief Sean Priddy says to his knowledge, it’s the most money ever collected through the yearly fundraiser and, Priddy says, this year, they cooked the most chili in the event’s history as well.
