Traffic stop leads to arrest on meth charges

BENTON, Ill. (WJPF) – A traffic stop Saturday in Benton turned into an arrest on meth charges.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies pulled over a vehicle at about 10:40 p.m. on South Main Street. One of the people inside the vehicle, Jeanna Anderson, 41, of Benton, has a criminal history of meth possession so a drug sniffing dog was called in to investigate the vehicle. The K-9 led deputies to multiple containers of methamphetamine and a large amount of cash.

Jeanna Anderson was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, and possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine.
