CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Two cars sped down the streets of Carbondale Monday night, the occupants of one shooting at the other.
Shortly before 7:30 p.m., Carbondale Police say a white Chevrolet Malibu and black Dodge Charger were both traveling eastbound on Route 13 when a person inside the Chevy opened fire on the Dodge. Police say both cars then took off; first eastbound on Route 13, then turning north on US 51. The incident came to an end when the driver of the Chevy crashed near Charles Road, just north of the industrial park. Three people got out of the Chevy and ran off to the east while the he Dodge drove off to the south.
No arrests have been announced.
