CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – An arrest has been made in connection to a fight and shooting that happened last week in Carbondale.
Cody Dempsey, 28, was arrested Wednesday on charges of attempted first degree murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm.
In the early morning hours of April 30th, Carbondale Police say they were called to break up a fight in the 500 block of South Illinois Avenue. When officers arrived on the scene, the combatants had already left the area. A few minutes later, shots were fired nearby in the 200 block of West College Street.
No injuries or property damage were reported.
