Gas prices top $5 in southern Illinois

CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WJPF) – The price for a gallon of gasoline has topped five dollars in southern Illinois.

According to AAA, prices for a gallon of regular unleaded are averaging five dollars or more in Jackson, Franklin, and Perry counties. The rest of the region is not far behind.

The state average is $5.13 a gallon.
