U.S. Reps. Bost, Miller vote against Respect for Marriage Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WJPF) – The U.S. House of Representatives has joined the U.S. Senate in passing the Respect for Marriage Act.

The legislation enshrines federal protections for same-sex and interracial marriage.

All House democrats voted in favor of the bill Thursday. 169 Republicans, including Rep. Mike Bost (IL-12)and Rep. Mary Miller (IL-15) voted against the act.

The bill now heads to President Biden’s desk. He is expected to sign it into law.
