Mt. Vernon Police have a juvenile in custody related to incidents involving shots fired. The incidents occurred over the past couple of weeks, according to police.
Warrants were issued Friday and two juveniles were questioned. After searching a home, police found five guns – two of them reported as stolen. They also recovered a shotgun which had the barrel cut down illegally.
One of the juveniles was released. The other, a 17-year-old, was taken into custody and charged with multiple violations. He has been transferred to the Franklin County Juvenile Center.
