HECKER, Ill. (WJPF) – Cleanup is underway in Monroe County after severe weather over the weekend toppled trees and damaged homes.
An estimated EF-1 tornado hit the town of Hecker. An estimated EF-0 strength storm moved through Valmeyer. No injuries were reported in either town.
The national weather service office in St. Louis reports at least seven tornados touching down Saturday in areas south of St. Louis and in southwestern Illinois.
