MARION, Ill. (WJPF) – A Mississippi man was arrested and over 80 pounds of marijuana were seized during a traffic stop in Marion.
At about 1:00a.m. Monday, a Marion police officer pulled over William Davis, 44, for speeding in a construction zone on southbound Interstate 57. Three transparent bags were found in Davis’ backseat containing a total of 82.9 pounds of cannabis flower. Davis was also in possession of 30 bottle of cannabis-infused syrup and 40 disposable cannabis vape pens.
William Davis was taken to the Williamson County Jail on charges of manufacture/delivery of cannabis > 5,000 grams, cannabis trafficking > 5,000 grams, driving while license revoked or suspended, and speeding in a construction zone.
