Friday morning, the Saluki men’s basketball team woke up to a new commitment. Jarrett Hensley, who spent the past two seasons at Cincinnati, announced his commitment to SIU.
The former Bearcat came out of high school as a four-star prospect and was #144 in Rivals’ 2020 Top 150. Hensley, a 6’8 forward, committed to UNC-Greensboro and when his head coach Wes Miller became the head coach at Cincinnati a year later, he followed.
In two seasons at Cincinnati, the 6’8 Hensley averaged 1.8 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.4 assists. The incoming senior improved his field goal percentage from sophomore to junior season from .395 to .474 this past season. He also improved at the free throw line from .583 to .714.
