CAIRO, Ill. (WJPF) – A Cairo man has been arrested for murder.
Illinois State Police say Samuel Lewis, 42, shot and killed Lafayette Woods, 34, just before midnight on May 9 in the 2400 block of Sycamore Street in Cairo. Woods died at the scene. A reason for the killing has not been released.
Samuel Lewis was charged Tuesday with one count of first degree murder. Lewis is currently in the Pulaski County Jail on a $2 million bond.
