It didn’t take former SIU safety Clayton Bush long to find a new home after entering the transfer portal last week.
On Tuesday, Bush announced he was committing to the University of Illinois. Bush joins the Fighting Illini as a grad transfer with one year of eligibility remaining.
Bush logged 5 interceptions in his three seasons with SIU.
Bush is the third scholarship safety to join the Illini this offseason. Former FCS All-American Nicario Harper (Louisville) transferred to Illinois in January with one year of eligibility remaining. Freshman All-American safety Demetrius Hill (FIU) announced earlier this month he will transfer to Illinois this summer.
