Christopher girls’ basketball star Amiah Hargrove announced her verbal commitment to Nebraska Wednesday evening.

Hargrove has been viewed as a top prospect in the Midwest for years in the Class of 2024.  Before she had ever set foot on a high school court, the University of Illinois offered the now 6’2 forward a scholarship.

The Bearcats star helped lead Christopher to a 2nd place finish this past season in the 1A IHSA State Finals, falling to Okawville 56-35.

This past season, Hargrove averaged 25.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.4 steals per game.  The season before, she averaged 25.0 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 2.8 steals per game.

Hargrove had several offers on the table including Southern Illinois, the University of Illinois, Creighton, Indiana, Iowa, and Missouri, among others.

Prep Girls Hoops ranks Hargrove as the #2 prospect in girls’ basketball in Illinois.  The top recruit in Illinois, Aaliyah Guyton, listed her top 5 earlier this week and Nebraska was among the teams she had narrowed her choices down to.
