Major League Baseball announced Tuesday the date for the 2024 Field of Dreams Game, which will feature the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama. The game will be on June 20, 2024.
The 2024 matchup will also be considered a Negro Leagues tribute game and honor Hall of Famer Willie May in particular, who began his career at Rickwood Field in 1948 with the Birmingham Black Barons.
The game will be staged around the Juneteenth holiday.
The Dyersville, Iowa Field of Dreams site, which hosted the first two iterations of the game, is currently under construction. No game is slated for this season at the site.
