The St. Louis Blues made a move Tuesday, acquiring forward Kevin Hayes from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.

Originally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010, Hayes is a 6-foot-5, 216-pound forward that has spent the past four seasons with the Flyers.  In 2022-23, he tallied 54 points (18 goals, 36 assists) in 81 regular season games, earning a selection tot he 2023 NHL All-Star Game.  That total was also second-best on the Flyers roster.

In his career, Hayes has appeared in nine NHL seasons and accumulated 386 points (155 goals, 231 assists) in 634 career regular-season games and 26 points (8 goals, 18 assists) in 56 career postseason games.

Blues fans were quick to note their concern about Hayes’ faceoff win percentage, winning just 49.4% this past season of his total 676 faceoffs.  His career faceoff win percentage is 46.4%.
