CARBONDALE, Il. (WJPF) – A man is facing multiple charges after compliance checks in Carbondale.
On Wednesday June 28th around 8:00am, Carbondale officers, Illinois Department of Corrections and deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff’s office conducted parole compliance checks.
Officers found 30 year old Daquarii Mathis of Carbondale to be in possession of a stolen firearm and suspected illegal narcotics. This was in the 300 block of South Crestview Street.
Mathis has been arrested for Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. A warrant was also issued for Mathis violating conditions of his parole.
Mathis was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.
