CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – A juvenile, armed with a gun, was arrested and later released after stealing several items that police describe as “firearm related” from a Carbondale business.
According to Carbondale Police, the retail theft happened around 5:20 p.m. Monday at a business in the 1700 block of West Main Street. The juvenile was caught shoplifting by store employees who called the police. Police say the minor was carrying a gun when he was caught.
The juvenile was arrested and then later released to a family member.
