CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois University track and field alumna Deanna Price is bringing home a bronze medal after finishing third in the women’s hammer throw at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, on Thursday night.
Price posted a mark of 75.41m in the fifth round of the hammer throw, leading to the third-place finish and bronze medal-winning performance. The former Saluki was joined on the podium by fellow American Janee Kassanavoid, who finished second and won a silver medal in the event.
