Two 18 year olds from Carbondale have been Arrested in an Unlawful Use of a Weapon Investigation

CARBONDALE Ill. (WJPF) – An Unlawful Use of a Weapon Investigation has led to the arrest of two males from Carbondale.

Police responded to the 700 block of West College street around 3:30pm Friday October 6th, after a report of two suspicious males outside a residence.

18 year old Vernell Lollar was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon after he was found to be in possession of a handgun. Lollar was also charged with Home Invasion after officers learned he had unlawfully entered a home and threatened the resident with the firearm.

18 year old Tyrez Gails was arrested for a valid Jackson County Failure to Appear Warrant on a prior arrest for Resisting a Peace Officer.

Both Lollar and Gails were taken to the Jackson County Jail.
