Following a shocking 39-7 blowout win at Van Metre Field on Friday night, the Du Quoin Indians supplanted Murphysboro as the #1 team in the final John A. Logan College Little Egypt Football Poll of the season. The Indians climbed up the rankings all season, starting the year with just three points to start the year and missed out on a perfect score by one point to finish the year.
The 8-1 Red Devils just barely held on to the #2 ranking, beating out the only other 9-0 team in the region, Sesser-Valier-Waltonville, by three points.
The Harrisburg Bulldogs were the biggest risers in the final poll of the season, moving from #10 to #8 after a 49-28 win at Benton.
The Nashville Hornets climbed back in to the Top 10 with a big 40-22 win over Shelbyville, the #2 seed in the 2A South Bracket of the IHSA Playoffs.
