Carmi-White County Bulldogs punch ticket to 2A Volleyball State Finals after thrilling come-from-behind victory

The Carmi-White County Bulldogs are headed to state for the first time in school history.  The Lady Bulldogs won Friday night at the Robinson 2A Super-Sectional over Champaign (St. Thomas More).

Earlier this week, the Bulldogs won their first ever Sectional title with a come-from-behind win over Fairfield.  It was a very similar story in Friday night’s 2A Super.  After dropping the first set 25-23 to St. Thomas More, the Bulldogs rallied and won the second set 25-22 to set up the third and final set.  The Lady Bulldogs came out on top in that all-important third set 25-18.

The Lady Bulldogs look to continue their run at the State Finals next Friday in Normal at Illinois State’s Redbird Arena.  The Bulldogs matchup against Elmhurst (Timothy Christian) Super-Sectional winner Elmhurst (IC Catholic) Friday, November 10 at noon.  The winner will advance to the Championship match on Saturday, November 11 at 1:55pm.  The loser will play in the third place match the same day at 12:25 pm.
