CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Mid-American Conference named junior Alex Santiago the conference swimmer of the week on Wednesday.
Santiago had three individual first place finishes last week at the A3 Performance Invitational, his three victories were in the men’s 50-yard freestyle he finished first with a time of 19.92, in the 200-yard freestyle he finished first with a time of 1:38.63 and 100-yard freestyle with a time of 44.31.
Santiago was named to the 2nd Team All-MAC in 2023 and was also named the A3 Performance Invitational men’s Swimmer of the Meet this past weekend. This season Santiago has had individual top five finishes at each meet
Alex and the Salukis will compete next at the Purdue Invitational Nov. 16-18 in West Lafayette, Indiana.
