MARION, Ill. (WJPF) – Police in Williamson County say they’ve opened an investigation after a gun was pulled during a fight at an unlicensed bar and hookah lounge in rural Marion.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, it happened around 4:00 a.m. Saturday at an establishment known as the B&B Shisha Lounge, located at 8230 Old Route 13.

The sheriff’s office says Gregory Robinson tried to enter the lounge with a handgun. When Robinson was refused entry, the sheriff’s office says he became angry, got into his vehicle, and pointed a handgun at the lounge owner as he sped off.

About three hours later, the sheriff’s office says Gregory Robinson was involved in another disturbance, this one at a gas station in Carterville. He was detained at the gas station and then arrested on charges of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, aggravated assault, and disorderly conduct.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says their investigation into the unlicensed bar and it’s owner, Brent Battles, is ongoing. No charges against Battles in connection to the incident have been announced.
