WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – A man faces multiple charges after holding a woman hostage and fleeing police.
Deputies with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department responded to a woman reporting Domestic Battery Sunday morning in Cambria.
Deputies discovered the female had arrived home Saturday around 4:00pm to find Larry Parsons, whom she had an order of protection against, hiding in her bedroom.
Parsons, armed with a knife, threatened to kill the female, struck her in the head and held her captive until she escaped Sunday morning.
Deputies first responded to the victims location and gave her medical treatment, they then went to the victims residence and located Parson’s. He was seen loading the victim’s belongings into his vehicle and fled when deputies approached.
Parson fled through Cambria at a high rate of speed, lost control of the vehicle, struck multiple utility poles, rolled over and came to rest in a ditch. The vehicle was badly damaged and he had to be cut out.
After Parson’s was medically cleared from the hospital he was arrested and taken into custody of the Williamson County Jail.
Parson was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Restraint, Violation of Order of Protection, Domestic Battery, Interference with the reporting of Domestic Violence, Criminal Trespass to a Residence, Aggravated Assault, Residential Burglary, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Resisting Obstructing a Peace Officer, Reckless Conduct, Reckless Driving, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Disobeying Stop Sign, Failure to Signal when Required, Improper Lane Usage, and Operating Uninsured Vehicle.
