Bost, Bryant, Severin all victorious in primary elections

(WJPF) – Mike Bost, Terri Bryant, and Dave Severin have all declared victory in their primary elections.

In the 12th Congressional District, Republican Mike Bost held off a challenge from former Illinois State Senator Darren Bailey.  The Democratic Primary saw Brian Roberts defeat Preston Nelson.   

In the 58th State Senate District Republican Primary, Terri Bryant defeated challenger Wesley Kash, a Jefferson County attorney and Farmer.  In the 116th State House District Republican Primary, Dave Severin bested Angela Evans, a current member of the Franklin County Board.  No democrats filed to run in either race.  

In county-wide races, Republican Jim Marlo retains his seat on the Williamson County Board, beating primary challenger Ron Ellis. Dave McReynolds will be the next Williamson County Coroner, defeating Jodi Binkley Ross in the Republican Primary.  No candidates filed to run for coroner as a democrat. 

Jim Giacone won a three person Republican Primary race to become the next resident circuit judge in Franklin County.  He beat attorneys Bryan Drew and Daniel Cockrum.  No democrats filed to run.   

Retired judge Walden Morris beat incumbent Molly Wilson in the Republican Primary and will head back to the courtroom, this time as the Saline County State’s Attorney. No democrats filed to run.
