FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – A doctor from Franklin County has been sentenced for Health Care Fraud.
50 year old Dr. Lee Peter Bee, formerly of Sesser, was sentenced to five months imprisonment and five months home confinement.
Dr. Bee practiced osteopathic medicine and operated a private clinic in Sesser. Between 2015 and 2020, he billed Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance companies for medical services he did not perform. He received payments from insurers totaling at least $195,000.
Dr. Bee plead guilty to two counts of healthcare fraud and was also ordered to pay restitution.
