JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – A man has been arrested for a shooting investigation in Jefferson County.
On Thursday April 25th around 7:45pm, the sheriff’s office responded to a domestic disturbance call involving a gun and a shot fired at North Abbott Lane in Belle Rive. At the scene, Deputies interviewed parties involved, witnesses, and collected evidence, including the handgun used in the incident.
The offender was identified as one of the residents, 27 year old Stepfon Smith. He was arrested for Aggravated Use of a Weapon, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Domestic Battery, and Criminal Damage to Property.
Smith was taken to the Jefferson County Jail and awaits his pre-trial detention hearing.
