Honduran national pleads guilty to Jackson County home invasion

MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WJPF) – A Honduran national has been sentenced to 12 years in Illinois prison for home invasion.

The Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office says Jose Membreno Suate, 27, admitted to using a plastic bank card to gain entry to a Jackson County home on March 8, 2024. He was arrested at the scene. Carbondale Police said Membreno Suate had no ties to the local community.

Jose Membreno Suate pleaded guilty to a single count of home invasion, a class X felony, on May 15, 2024.
