Centralia Man Faces Charges for a Carbondale Shooting

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – A Centralia man faces charges after a shooting in Carbondale.

On May 25th, 18 year old Kaemarius Parks was arrested at a residence in Centralia. 

He was first taken to the Marion County Jail but then moved to the Jackson County Jail.

Parks had his initial detention hearing on Friday May 31, and faces charges of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Aggravated Unlawful use of Weapons.

The charges come after a shooting that occurred on May 18th. When officers arrived on scene, they located two individuals with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. 

The investigation revealed that the shooting was a result of a dispute between known acquaintances.
