Former Logan big man Jamarion Sharp gets a shot with Dallas Mavericks

Former John A. Logan College big man Jamarion Sharp is getting a chance to play in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks.  He becomes the second player that used to play college basketball in Southern Illinois in the past 24 hours to be picked up by the Mavs.

Sharp will join the Mavs Summer League team alongside former SIU guard Xavier Johnson.

Sharp was a shot blocking menace throughout his college career.  He blocked a total of 249 shots in two season for the Vols, averaging 4.5 blocked shots in that span.  He continued that with two years at Western Kentucky and one at Ole Miss where he averaged 3.7 blocks the past three seasons.

The NBA Summer League is from July 12 to July 22.
