A Woman Faces Multiple Charges after Fleeing Police in Williamson County

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – A woman faces multiple charges after fleeing police in Williamson County.

On June 28th, deputies observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Prosperity Road near Johnston City.

Deputies turned around in an attempt to catch the vehicle and check registration, when the vehicle accelerated and began fleeing south at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle continued for approximately three quarters of a mile before turning into a driveway.

The driver, identified as Jerri Stritzel, was taken into custody.

While searching the vehicle, deputies located a schedule 3 controlled substance inside a white film canister. She advised the controlled substance was Suboxone and was unable to provide a prescription.

Stritzel was cited for Possession Of A Controlled Substance, Fleeing Or Attempting To Elude A Peace Officer, and Reckless Driving

She is in custody of the Williamson County Jail.
