1-year-old dies after being left in hot car

FAIRFIELD, Ill. (WJPF) — A Wayne County woman is facing involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment charges after police say she left two children inside of a hot vehicle.

Illinois State Police say Adreian Hooper, 36, of Fairfield, was charged on Tuesday, July 16, with involuntary manslaughter, endangering the life of a child – death, reckless conduct, and endangering the life of a child (Class A Misdemeanor). 

According to ISP, their investigators were contacted on Sunday, July 14, to assist the Fairfield Police Department after two children were left inside of a vehicle for multiple hours.  A 1-year-old boy died; a 2-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
