A man is facing drug related charges after a traffic stop in Williamson County

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – A man faces multiple charges after a traffic stop in Williamson County.

On Friday July 19, deputies witnessed a vehicle traveling eastbound on IL Route 13 commit multiple traffic violations.

A traffic stop was conducted where deputies identified the driver, Isaiah Butler.

Butler had impaired speech, body shaking, and tried to hand officers a credit card rather than his driver’s license.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies found a green leafy substance, suspected to be cannabis, lying in the front seat.

Butler admitted to having pills on him which were found to be Fentanyl.

Butler was cited for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in Motor Vehicle, and Improper Lane Usage.

He remains in the Williamson County Jail.
