JACKSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – The suspect in a Murphysboro shooting is now in custody.
49 year old Daron Woods turned himself in to Jackson County last night (8/22) and faces two counts of first-degree murder and one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
The shooting took place on Wednesday (8/21) where 29 year old Maurice Funchess was shot and died on scene. A second victim was also involved. Clyde Boozer was stabbed by Woods…. He was taken to the hospital for injuries and has since been released.
Woods is due in court August 23rd.
