After a huge Week 1 in Little Egypt, the John A. Logan College Little Egypt Football Poll looks completely different from how it did in the preseason poll.
The Benton Rangers have claimed the top spot in the poll following a 42-0 blowout at Carterville. That victory also kicked Carterville (formerly #3) completely out of the Top 10.
The Carbondale Terriers aren’t far behind. They had one of the biggest jumps of the week, going from #9 to #2 after a big come-from-behind 36-33 victory over preseason favorite Murphysboro.
Johnston City rocketed their way to the #3 spot after starting the year unranked with a 62-0 win over Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton.
The Chester Yellow Jackets were the surprise of the week, winning at Du Quoin (formerly #6) 35-27 to pick up a pick win and force their way in to the Top 10.
