JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – The driver of a horse-drawn buggy was killed Monday in a traffic crash in Jefferson County.
The accident happened at about 4:30 p.m. on Log Cabin Road. A passenger van rear-ended the horse-and-buggy.
Police say the 18-year-old buggy driver died of her injuries at a local hospital. Two passengers, both women in their early 20s, were flown to St. Louis hospitals. The driver of the van was also injured, though not seriously.
