MOUNT VERNON, Ill. (WJPF) – Saying they have to take every threat made towards a school seriously, there will be an increased police presence Tuesday at Mt. Vernon schools .
Mount Vernon Police say a threat circulating widely on social media has no credibility and a number of other schools in the region have received the same copy and pasted message.
Police will be present out of an abundance of caution, but otherwise school will go on as normal.
