Two people face charges after shots fired in Waltonville

WALTONVILLE, Ill. (WJPF) – Two people are facing charges after shots fired in Jefferson County

On September 29th just before 8:00pm, police responded to a residence in Waltonville, for a reported disturbance with shots fired. 

After several minutes of being on scene officers were able to get a resident, 58 year old Christopher Redman, to exit his home. Once outside, he was taken into custody.

After speaking with multiple witnesses, deputies determined a second individual was involved. They relocated to another residence and made contact with 68 year old David Spotanski, who was also taken into custody. 

Redman faces charges of Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm with an Expired FOID Card.

Spotanski faces charges of Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.

They were both transported to the Jefferson County Justice Center.
